The next main release, version 2.1 is under heavy development. Another milestone was reached this week when support for installation via the updated framework was completed.
The development blog is continously updated with information about The Bug Genie development, and we just added screenshots from the 2.1 installation.

Now available: The Bug Genie 2.0.5

The next release in the 2.0.x series is now available for immediate download. This update is one of the biggest service updates yet, and brings the following changes and improvements:
- Support for HTTP Authentication
- Added timezone setting for server + user
- Added support for WebSVN in addition to ViewVC
- New grouping option (category) for searches
- Categories can now apply only to certain products
- A lot of small annoying bugs have been fixed
This release is a recommended release for all users.

Our online bug-tracker has also been upgraded to the latest version.
32.000 downloads

When we entered this month, we reached a nice milestone of 32,000 downloads on sourceforge.net.
Thanks to everyone that has helped us so far and contributed one way or another!
We have some awesome stuff going on behind the scenes, and a lot of activity "on the scene" as well - I'll keep you posted!

Now available: The Bug Genie 2.0.4

In our fourth monthly release, this month sees the release of version 2.0.4. Version 2.0.4 this version fixes all annoying bugs reported since the 2.0.3 release, but also adds:
* new behaviour in the "reporting wizard"
* the return of a functional command line utility
* updated tinymce
* several speedups in the database code when retrieving data types

After working with
OpensourceCMS.com for about a week, we've now got The Bug Genie hosted on their site.
This means you can try out The Bug Genie completely, and for free!
Forums now available

As you can probably see from the top right menu, we've now added
forums to our webpages, instead of the sourceforge.net forums. The new forums should provide a much better experience.
Unfortunately, we have not migrated the information in the old forums, but please use the new forums from now on.

Bug-fix release: The Bug Genie 2.0.3.1

The 2.0.3 release introduced an unfortunate bug with email notifications, which has been fixed in the 2.0.3.1 version. There are no other significant changes in this release.
Users who does not use email notifications are in no need to upgrade.

MySQL and installation problems

I've received some emails recently where people are having problems with the installation, usually returning errors like 'The row does not exist', and similar. Most of the people reporting this issue are using MySQL version 5.0.67.
If you are using this version and are experiencing problems, please try upgrading to the latest version of MySQL and try again, before reporting an issue or contacting support.
Announcing: The Bug Genie 2.0.3

Releasing the third service release for the 2.0 series, this version fixes all the most annoying bugs reported since the 2.0.2 release. Version 2.0.3 also adds:
* an indicator when posting comments
* a theme drop down option in the account menu so users can select their own themes
* issue title in search results is now clickable
This is a recommended upgrade for all our users.
There is no upgrade procedure for this version - it can be unpacked into your current installed bug genie directory. The release can be found on our
sourceforge.net download page.
Our online bug-tracker has also been upgraded to the latest version.
2.1 progress, screenshots

I have uploaded some screenshots of version 2.1 and talked a bit about some of the new features that will be in that version in my blog. If you're interested, click the "Blog" link at the top-right of this page to see more.
As you can see, we have also updated our logo to better match our name. Once again thanks a lot Michael - our eminent logo designer!
